Business documents play an important role in international relationships, transforming them from language to language is one of the problems of communication between different nations. The purpose of the study is to define the characteristics of reality translation at the theoretical and practical levels. The factual material for scientific study is specific linguistic units (lexemes, phrases, sentences) in one or more languages, the peculiarities of construction, meaning, and functioning of which are investigated in the proposed research, which, in turn, gives new scientifically grounded results. A set of methods was used to study the problem and solve the tasks of the thesis. They are based on the communicative-functional approach and includes theoretical analysis of specialized literature on the research topic, selection of texts for analysis using comparative and contrastive and contextual methods of studying the original and translated texts and identifying appropriate translator’s strategies, statistical processing of the data obtained, and linguistic and translation interpretation of the results. The methods of translation contrastive analysis and word-formation analysis were also used in this study. The scientific novelty of the results is that an attempt has been made to better understand lexical and grammatical ways of transformation in international business documents . The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of using the results of the study in writing term papers and diploma papers in translation studies, in practical classes on the section «Translation of Terms», in seminars on «Comparative Lexicology of English and Ukrainian». It is also possible to use the material and results of the research in the field of lexicography, in the further study of terminology problems. The material can also be used in the development of training courses in rhetoric, language culture and stylistics.

The Master’s thesis is devoted to the study of English terminology in the sector of business logistics and to the analysis of methods and strategies used for its translation into Ukrainian. The research focuses on the structural, semantic, and functional characteristics of logistic terminology as well as on the identification of translation patterns that ensure accuracy, consistency, and terminological standardization in Ukrainian. Relevance of the research topic. In the context of globalization and Ukraine’s growing integration into the international economic environment, business logistics plays a crucial role in facilitating global trade, optimizing supply chains, and maintaining the competitiveness of national companies. Given that English functions as the modern lingua franca of business communication, the majority of logistic terminology originates in English. Therefore, the accurate translation of such terms is essential for preventing miscommunication, operational failures, and financial risks. The rapid development of logistics technologies, digital platforms, and supply chain innovations leads to the emergence of new terms that often lack established Ukrainian equivalents, making the field challenging for translators. These factors highlight the importance of a systematic linguistic and corpus-based analysis of English logistic terminology and its Ukrainian translations.

The Master’s thesis is devoted to the structural-semantic and stylistic features of English-language technical texts in the automotive industry and the specifics of their translation into Ukrainian, based on instructions, auto parts catalogues, and regulatory-technical documentation. Relevance of the research topic. In the context of intensive development of the global automotive industry and expanding international contacts, the study of the specifics of English technical texts, which form the basis of information support for production, operation, and maintenance of vehicles, is of particular importance. Instructions, auto parts catalogs, ISO and SAE standards, and other regulatory-technical documentation serve as key communication tools between manufacturers, service centers, dealers, and consumers. Their linguistic organization is characterized by high standardization, precision, terminological saturation, and specific structural-semantic and stylistic means. The relevance is driven by the growing need for high-quality and adequate translation of technical literature from English to Ukrainian amid globalization and active import of automotive products to Ukraine, which impacts road safety, maintenance efficiency, and harmonization of national standards with international ones. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze the structural-semantic and stylistic features of English technical texts in the automotive industry and to clarify the specifics of their translation into Ukrainian based on instructions, auto parts catalogs, and regulatory-technical documentation.

Переклад у сучасному глобалізованому світі виступає одним із основних чинників забезпечення міжмовної та міжкультурної комунікації. Розвиток міжнародних контактів, інтеграція економік та зростання ролі інформаційних технологій зумовлюють потребу у високоякісному перекладі спеціалізованих текстів, зокрема технічної та професійної тематики. Особливе місце серед таких текстів посідають автомобільні, які відображають високий рівень технологічного розвитку, включають значну кількість термінологічних одиниць, абревіатур та специфічних виразів, і тому вимагають від перекладача високої кваліфікації та досконалого володіння перекладацькими стратегіями. Актуальність дослідження зумовлюється тим, що переклад автомобільних текстів посідає важливе місце в сучасній перекладацькій практиці, адже охоплює інструкції з експлуатації, технічні характеристики, маркетингові матеріали, науково-технічні статті та рекламні тексти. Вони мають не лише інформативну, а й практичну цінність для широкого кола користувачів – від інженерів і механіків до пересічних автовласників. Успішна передача змісту таких текстів потребує використання лексико-граматичних трансформацій, які дозволяють забезпечити точність і природність висловлювання, зберегти термінологічну відповідність та врахувати культурно-мовні особливості українського реципієнта. Незважаючи на значну кількість досліджень у галузі перекладознавства, питання системного аналізу лексико-граматичних трансформацій саме у перекладі текстів автомобільної тематики залишається недостатньо розробленим, що й визначає наукову новизну даної роботи.

The present master’s thesis, entitled “Machine Translation in the Technical Field: The Case of Transport Terminology”, is devoted to an area of growing importance at the intersection of linguistics, translation studies, and information technologies. The research explores the capacity of modern machine translation (MT) systems to process transport related terminology within technical texts, with the aim of providing a comprehensive analysis of their strengths, weaknesses, and prospects for improvement. The relevance of this research arises from the rapid globalization of scientific and industrial communication. In today’s interconnected world, the demand for fast and accurate translation in the technical domain is steadily increasing. This is especially true in the field of transportation, which constitutes a strategic sector for both national economies and international cooperation. Technical documentation, regulations, and operational guidelines in the transport industry are saturated with specialized terms, abbreviations, and professional jargon. Such features make translation particularly challenging, as equivalent terms are often lacking in the target language. Errors in translation may therefore lead to not only communicative misunderstandings but also serious technical and safety risks Against this background, machine translation has emerged as a key tool in cross cultural knowledge exchange, but its ability to convey terminological precision and pragmatic adequacy remains a subject of ongoing debate.. The object of the study is defined as the process of machine translation of technical texts. The subject is the specific reproduction of transport-related terminology in machine translation outputs. The research material encompasses corpora of technical and transport texts, processed and analyzed through a combination of machine-generated and human-edited translations. The main aim of the thesis is to reveal the peculiarities of machine translation performance in handling transport terminology and to outline practical ways of improving translation quality in this sphere.
